It has helped the school become better known in the community through events, advertising and gaining support from many local businesses.
But most of all it has helped the school
community grow and provided fun activities for all ages!
Although there is a ‘steering’ committee for the association all ‘friends’ are
welcome to attend any of the FOAH meetings and these are advertised in the
school and association newsletters.

The Home/School Association - The initial introduction
SO WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA ?
Well, that is what we want to hear from you, the children of the
school......
It was nice to hear that all of you that came to the school parties/disco on November 1st
had a great time. The costumes, again, were fantastic - thanks to your parents perhaps.
The younger ones were held spell-bound by the antics of magician/entertainer Smarty Marty,
whilst later the juniors much appreciated the disco which was also attended by many of the
teachers who joined in the fun. As you may know the Friends of Acre Heads arrange various
events to raise funds to support the school and provide items for education because there
is not enough money in the normal school budget. We are at present raising funds for new
school computers.

However, not all the events that we arrange are for fundraising. For
instance the parties and disco were arranged purely for your fun and entertainment!
So what we want to hear from you is YOUR IDEAS for other events that you would like to
happen at the school.
Some ideas which have been discussed at our meetings include:
- a photographic competition
- a fashion show (involving children to model the clothes)
- various sponsored events
Write to us with your ideas for future events or if you want to comment about previous
events which we have done.
A prize will be given to one child from the infants and one child from the juniors for the
best letter or idea that we receive.
Don't forget to write your name, age and teacher's name on the entry.
Jack Hemsworth
Chair of FOAH (2000-2003)
