'Fearless Freda' stories from Year 2 pupils

Fearless Freda

One Wednesday morning Freda woke up at exactly 7am. She got dressed very quickly then went downstairs to get some breakfast. When everything was done she got her backpack. This is what she had in it, axe, a rope, a teddy, teddy tissues and for some reason she had a walking-stick. But Freda was fearless! Freda took the road through the mountains, but there were leopards in a cave. This is what the sign said. Danger! Fierce Leopard. But she did not care! She had to tip-toe very quickly but quietly. When she had finally got past the leopard and reached the bridge she tiptoed lightly across the bridge and there was another danger. Elephants were nearby. She had to run and oh no snakes! Poisonous snakes. She had to run for her life until finally she was at school and all her friends were waiting for her. There were Sarah, Laura, Caroline, Lucy and Holly.

Fearless Freda

One Monday Freda was going to school. She didn't know which way to go. So she did 'ini mini mine mo'. When she found out which way to go she went through the mountains. She saw a vulture in the corner of her eye so she pretended to be James Bond, but she didn't have a gun so she used her walking stick to smack it. It was easy to get round the leopard because it was staring at the Sun. But when she was on the bridge she forgot that the leopard had sharp teeth and the leopard bit the bridge and she fell into the river. The alligators went to get her but she grabbed onto a tree and pulled herself up. The two alligators decided to get her. The elephants were easy because they were trying to fly like Dumbo and then she was at school.

Fearless Freda

On Friday Freda went to school. She had to walk down the path through the mountains with her teddy Fred. She walked through the mountains and she saw some vultures flying above her. But she did not mind. Before long she came to the place where the dangerous leopard who scowled at her was lying down. Then she was near to the rope bridge. She was just about to step on it when she had a feeling that the leopard might just come after her. But very bravely she just crossed the bridge and tried not to fall in the river. At last she was near school then she passed some snakes that were horrid. There were some elephants that nearly barged right into her with their tusks, but she quickly ran past them and then ran straight through the school door. She was worried that she was late for school. But when she got in she was amazed because there was no one there! There was not even one single person on the carpet. She had got to school on time. Then everyone came in so she got to school safely after all.

Fearless Freda

Freda woke up and it was 7 o'clock. It was Friday. She yawned. Then she got dressed. Then she put on her backpack and set off. She thought for a moment when she got out of the house. She wondered if she would go through the mountains or the swamps. She decided to go through the mountains. It was windy. She prodded the vultures so they would go away. She didn't realise that she was going to have an adventure. She wouldn't because this was going to be her new school. She didn't see the notice on the cave. It said Danger! Fierce Leopard. The leopard jumped out at her. She didn't know what to do. Then she remembered her walking stick. She threw the leopard with the walking stick into the river. Next there was something dangerous coming up again. It was the bridge! It wasn't any old bridge because underneath there were the alligators. Very slowly she walked across the bridge. But then she slipped! She got one of the trees and pulled herself up. Then she went past the elephants and snakes. Then finally she was at school.
