Following the completion of the major building project at the school last year and the installation of the new furniture in the school’s new Learning Resource Centre (LRC) the school welcomed Councillor Mrs Mary Kingston, the Chairman of the Council and other distinguished guests to the official opening of the extension and LRC.

Following a brief tour, the opening ceremony began and guests enjoyed the children’s comments and poems about how the school was before the extension, what it was like being in the middle of a building site and how the ‘new school’ is making such a big difference to their lives.

Councillor Mrs Mary Kingston unveiled a plaque commemorating the event and presented Dr Bennett with an East Riding of Yorkshire Council shield to be displayed in the school.

Buffets for guests and staff rounded off the day and these included a special cake with the school logo on it which was shared with guests, staff and the children who had taken part in the opening ceremony.
