Introduction + Project Pictures + Childrens' Work + Africa Links
In January 1998 the whole school was involved in work relating to Africa as part of the East Riding Face to Face Project.
The school will be hosted visitors who showed the children aspects of African life, art and culture. Valdo Pons, from Art of Africa in Beverley, talked about life in a Ugandan village and showed the children batik and sculpture amongst many other things. Miso'Shi, a lady from Ghana, told the children about life in her home country and introduced them to African stories and music. She demonstrated many traditional features of life in Ghana.
The project focused on the development of art and language skills and Anlaby Acre Heads particularly concentrated on language development which followed the stimulus from the visitors and other activities.
The project coordinator was Mrs Jill Stubbs.
