AFRICAN POETRY

Miso'Shi

Miso'Shi,
Bouncy, bubbly and bright,
Weaves magic through the air,
Miso'Shi!

Miso'Shi,
Energetic, exuberant and expressive,
Dresses like rainbows in the deep blue sky,
Miso'Shi!

Miso'Shi,
Dramatic, dazzling and delightful,
Carries Africa in her magical pocket,
Miso'Shi!

Night is….

A sleek, sooty panther, ready to pounce, rapidly and gracefully, onto its unsuspecting prey,
It can be a gigantic, gleaming, dark diamond, holding the glittering, golden stars in their places,
Maybe it's a slithery, scaly, midnight snake coiled tightly round and round the Earth,
Possibly it's a keeper of marvellous, magical secrets, left untold for always,
Sometimes it's a winding, twisting, tarmac road, stretched across the patchwork landscape.

Night is….
A ragged vulture, circling overhead, crying out for food,
It can be a smooth, round, ebony rock, embedded with small silvery crystals,
Maybe it's a soft, black-velvet mantle slipped over the world, to envelop it in darkness,
Possibly it's a jet-black suit worn for the mourning of lost loved ones,
Sometimes it's a mysterious coal mine, which is hidden at sunrise and worked after sunset.

Night is….
A raven cloak wrapped loosely around the world,
It can be a translucent shadow cast by a gargantuan being,
Maybe it's a strong, unbreakable net, holding the Earth prisoner,
Possibly it's a deep pool filled with muddy, murky, pitch-dark water,
Sometimes it's a swallower of precious, dwindling light.
That is what night is!

Night in the Rainforest

Deep, dark, gloomy the rainforest is.
The stars in the sky are the diamonds up high
I can hear a rattling sound roaring in the night.
I can see a cheetah going to jump on me.
Snakes, lions, leopards hunting.
I can se two green, light eyes looking at me in the tree like a cheetah going to kill.
I can see dark, black spots and a tail.
It is a leopard.
Deep, dark, gloomy
The rainforest is.

In My African Box You Will Find…

The quiet sandy beach welcoming you to Africa.
The sunset fragrance of bananas falling off the trees.
The large hairy exotic coconuts tickling on your hands.
Taste the tropical fruits.
The swaying of the dark green palm trees going high, high into the light blue sky.
Inside my African box.
Inside my African box.

Crocodile

The crocodile is like a long log floating in the rising water and waiting to fall down the tremendous drop.

Senses of Africa

In my African box you will find….
Exotic rainforests swaying right to left
In the tropical rain scorching in the midnight moon.
The extending large grass.
Monkeys swinging tree to tree,
With swaying toucans in the dazzling moonlight.

Coconuts cascading out of the beautiful tall trees,
Hitting the floor surprisingly firm
Bouncing on the sily sand of the shiny beaches
With the moisture of the coconuts.

In my African box you will find….

In my African box you will find….
The palm leaves bowing at your feet,
See the people swaying their bodies to the beat of the music
And sleeping under palm trees,
Crabs scuttling over the rocks,
Mud huts far, far in the distance.
The unripe bananas swaying high in the sky
The fruit bouncing up and down.
You will hear the waves splashing against the rocks and the sound of the stunning music playing in the town.
Smell the cocoa beans cooking over a fire,
Taste the freshly made juice
Feel the hot, moist air against your skin,
While you play happily in the sand.
Smell the coconuts close to your lips.
The smell of the freshly cut coconuts.
Inside my magical box
Inside my magical box
