NUMBER DAY |
Everywhere you look you can see or use numbers, from road signs to the number of petals on a flower, from the time when your favourite cartoon starts to the number of cars parked in your street, from the work in your maths books to the number of teeth you have, numbers are absolutely everywhere!

This year has been Maths Year 2000 and to celebrate that the school magazine and this part of the website is full of maths, but maths that is not always the same as the maths you normally do at school. All maths can be fun, but the maths in here is even more fun!

December 5th is Number Day all over the country and as well as making maths fun it has a serious side because events are being organised to raise money for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Profits from the special issue of the school magazine will be sent to the NSPCC to help with their Full Stop Campaign.

Some of the pages from the school magazine are here on the website and you will need Adobe Acrobat to get to them and print them out. Most of the puzzles you can print have answers which you will know if you are right with. If you do get stuck with any of the puzzles (and some of them are tricky!) why not ask your family if they can help? If you still can’t get an answer then email the school at whatstheanswer@acreheads.co.uk

There are even more things to do at www.mathsyear2000.org/numberday/
Have fun!
